What is Rolfing?

Rolfing® Structural Integration is a hands-on manual therapy. It is a combination of bodywork and movement education. Rolfing works with the connective tissue, the tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints. It lengthens muscles and creates more flexibility, mobility and range of motion in the joints. Rolfing works to rebalance the body and to bring relief from chronic pain, stress, and injury.

Rolfers slowly work through deep layers of tissue to release built-up tension. The results are often dramatic. A good Rolfer will also integrate movement education about your body, so you can recognize unhealthy movement patterns and learn to move with greater ease and efficiency. You are never to young or to old to start this process, people from all walks of life benefit from Rolfing. For more information on Rolfing http://www.rolf.org/press/releases.htm

What should I wear to a session?

Most men wear either boxer briefs, briefs or athletic shorts.  Most women wear a regular bra and underwear or a two piece bathing suit. I work directly on skin so the more skin I have contact with the more effective the work will be.You should wear something you will be comfortable in.

How much does it cost and how long are the sessions?

Rolfing is $160 a session. I have a 24 hour cancellation policy so you must give at least 24 hours when changing or canceling an appointment. Sessions last 75 to 90 minutes.

Does Rolfing hurt?

No. Rolfing feels more like a stretching sensation and most find that it feels great. There may be moments in a session that the Rolfing process can be intense but it never needs to be painful.A good Rolfer knows what pressure is appropriate.
